Dreft; and Things Just Like It.

The Middle

So I am absolutely a lyrics person, incase you haven't noticed. I see the irony in "American Idiot" being number one on TRL. It makes the point for Green Day in that one sentiment. Anyhow, Jimmy Eat World, circa 2001. In the middle. I wish I had an older friend when I was like, 15, to say the things to me that are in these lyrics. I wish I had a fifteen yearold friend to say these things to, because the words are invaluable. Too bad it was a pop-chart hit, here and gone, and nobody bothered to hear the words...

The Middle

Hey, don't write yourself off yet.
It's only in your head you feel left out or
looked down on.
Just try your best, try everything you can.
And don't you worry what they tell themselves when you're away.
It just takes some time, little girl you're in the middle, it'll up the ride.
Everything will be just fine, everything will be alright.
Hey, you know they're all the same.
You know you're doing better on your own, so don't buy in.
Live right now.
Yeah, just be yourself.
It doesn't matter if it's good enough for someone else.
It just takes some time, little girl you're in the middle of the ride.
Everything will be just fine, everything will be alright.
It just takes some time, little girl you're in the middle of the ride.
Everything will be just fine, everything will be alright.
Hey, don't write yourself off yet.
It's only in your head you feel left out or
looked down on.
Just do your best, do everything you can.
And don't you worry what the bitter hearts are gonna say.
It just takes some time, little girl you're in the middle of the ride.
Everything will be just fine, everything will be alright.
It just takes some time, little girl you're in the middle of the ride.
Everything will be just fine, everything will be alright.
